Trilogy Excursions launches new catamaran from WA to HI

Lahaina, HI -- (September 20, 2001) -- Trilogy Excursions announces the completion of Trilogy VI, the latest addition to Maui's largest sailing fleet.

Launched in Washington, the new 55' x 30' composite and epoxy catamaran was sailed to Hawaii by one of Trilogy's owners, Captain Jim Coon, his son, and a crew of five Maui sailors. The 2,300-mile trip took two weeks.

"This new next generation catamaran incorporates many of the best features of our other five cats," says Captain Rand Coon, Trilogy's President and co-designer. "Besides a very passenger friendly design, this new vessel was built using the newest epoxy cold molding technology. This system creates a vessel of incredible strength, exceptional durability, and molded design."
