Enjoy hiking or biking up to the highest point on the island, the Lanai Hale, or known as the Munro Trail, enjoy breathtaking vistas as you climb up 3,300ft into the rainforest. Just as Lanai geography is diverse the weather is too. Lanai City is located in Lanai's central highlands and sit at an elevation of 1,700ft, it is noticeably cooler than the coastal areas. This is just one of many reasons staying in Lanai City is such a treat. Lanai City was founded in the early 1900s as a plantation town originally built around Lanai's booming pineapple industry. All the shops and restaurants of Lanai City are around Dole Park.
